In Korean traditional ink wash painting, various ink techniques—collectively known as Mukbeop (墨法)—were developed alongside the art form.
Jeokmuk is one of these techniques.
It involves first applying a light wash of diluted ink, then repeatedly layering progressively darker ink over it.
The name Jeokmuk (積墨) means “accumulated ink,” referring to the process of building up layers of ink gradually.
This pendant delicately captures the essence of the Jeokmuk technique, portraying the layered depth of ink carefully stacked upon itself.
Inspired by traditional ink wash painting,
the Sumukh Collection embodies the layered depth of ink and the delicate expression of ink droplets.
