Changbai Mountain, located in southeast of Jilin Province, is the source of three rivers which are Tumen River, Songhua River and Yalu River. The main peak is 2,691 meters above sea level, which is also the highest peak in Northeast China. It is the most typical natural complexes in northern Eurasia, and has become the world's natural reserves, the international A-level scenic spots, international biosphere reserve, national AAAAA level scenic spot, national nature reserve, national natural heritage site and China's top ten famous mountains.
The Administrative Committee of Changbai Mountain is the agency of Jilin Provincial Government. On behalf of the provincial government, it implements the policy of "unified planning, unified protection, unified development and unified management" to manage the economic, social affairs and natural resources of the area according to the law. It governs three county-level tourism economic zones including Chibei, Chixi and Chinan.
Focusing on the pattern of "big tourism" development, Changbai Mountain relies on land and air transportation and has built a dense network of airline, railway and highway. The airport of Changbai Mountain has opened routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Dalian, Changchun, Yanji, and other cities. Air routes to Guangzhou, Hong Kong and many other domestic and international cities will be opened soon. Fast and smooth transportation network provides a strong power for the tourism investment and industrial development in Changbai Mountain.
