Japan Food Sanitation Law (JFSL) - Regulatory
Toys in Japan that are intended for children under the age of 6 and products that can be put into their mouths require mandatory compliance under the Japan Food Sanitation Law (JSFL) to ensure product safety.
STC is a global independent third-party testing laboratory that has been recognized and accredited by Japan Ministry of Health, Labour & Welfare (MHLW) as a foreign official laboratory capable of performing comprehensive testing and certification services under the Japan Food Sanitation Law (JSFL). Testing reports issued by STC are accepted by the Japanese Customs, quarantine stations in Japan.
ST Standard - ST Mark Scheme
The Japan Toy Safety Standard (ST Standard) established by the Japan Toy Association (JTA) provides toy manufacturers, retailers and consumers additional safeguard on toys intended for play by children up to the age of 14 through the ST Mark scheme
