For all events of loss, the maximum indemnity provided is 90% of the credit limit.
The ECIC provides buyer credit checking and assessment. The credit information is regularly updated to monitor the risks.
With a worldwide network of lawyers and debt collectors available to call on, the ECIC is in a strong position to assist policyholders in solving payment problems and to advise them on practical actions for preventing or minimizing losses.
Insurance policies issued by the ECIC are accepted by the banking community as useful collateral for discounting export bills. The protection accorded to a policyholder may be extended to the policyholder bank by a letter of authority, which enables claims to be paid directly to the bank and can be instrumental in helping policyholders obtain banking facilities.
