- The Shangrao Economic and Technological Development Zone (SETD for short) is located in the western urban area of Shangrao city with convenient transportation links to eight provinces. SETD is considered to be a “National Economic and Technological Development Zone”, “Key Gradient Undertaking Base for National Processing Trade”, and “Transference Undertaking Base for Taiwan-funded Enterprises”.
- In addition, SETD is the national photovoltaic and optical hi-tech industrialization base, and is the top five development zones of Jiangxi Province. It covers an area of 176 square kilometres with 12 square kilometres of currently built-up industrial area, and owns a total population of over 100,000, including about 45 thousands of industrial workers.
- SETD occupies an extremely advantageous geographical position, with the Shanghai–Kunming Expressway, Shangrao–Wuyishan Expressway, National Road 320, the “Hang-nan-chang” (Hangzhou to Nanchang to Changsha) Express railway and Beijing–Fuzhou Express railway passing through. It is just two kilometres from the Shangrao Sanqingshan Airport, which is currently under construction, and there are six nearby airports within a three-hour radius.
- It has reliable rail transport and five scheduled trains (with fixed times, fixed routing, fixed freight, fixed stations and fixed train numbers), which can provide fast and convenient logistic services.
- The construction of the SETD is being accelerated. More than 60 kilometres of its road infrastructure has been completed. It has well-functioning facilities for electricity, water, gas supply, sewage treatment and residential quarters. It is ecologically fortuitous, the level of urbanization is improving continually and its economic strength is growing day by day.
- More than 170 industrial enterprises are currently in production, converging a number of industry brand enterprises such as Jinko Energy, Phoenix Optics, Nature Wood Industry, Shengdawei Electrical Material and Shangrao Coach. The companies have formed photovoltaic, optical and mechanical manufacturing and industrial clusters. As the main leading industrial zone of Shangrao City, the SETD is advancing bravely toward the goal of being the “Hundred-billion Development Zone”.
