- This is a wine for special occasions.
- Its name recalls the Latin one for the alliance entered into between the Piceni and the Romans against the Gauls in 300 B.C.
- It is obtained from Sangiovese grapes only, from our oldest vineyards with limited yield yet top final quality.
- This wine pays homage to the potential of Sangiovese in our territory.
- Sensory analysis:
- A wine with an intense ruby colour and good intensity.
- An intense nose, with a very wide, diversified aromatic spectrum.
- The flavours of small red fruits accompany the nuances of coffee, tobacco and hay.
- Full, elegant palate with a tannic backbone that blends harmoniously with the fruity vitality.
- The not exceedingly marked acidity gives the wine more deepness and persistence.
- Grape varieties: 100% Sangiovese.
- Average age of vineyards: 30 years with southern exposure,
- 250-300m height.
- Soil: hilly, medium-textured, verging on clayey.
- Vine training technique: cordon training.
- Harvesting: handpicking in crates with selection of grape bunches in the second ten days of September.
- Vinification: fermentation and maceration for 14 days.
- Refining: in kegs for 15/18 months.
- Alcohol: 14.00% vol.
- Ideal temperature: 16°C-18°C.
