    Description

Calendas of March is the first day of the lunar year, according to the ancient roman calendar. At Ochoa, Calendas represents the start of a new vintage with the bleeding of the vine, the time we start working to obtain high quality grapes to be harvested in September. The duration between the time from when our vines begin to produce grapes to when they are ready to be harvested is approximately 200 days. The beginning of this process is called "calendas". This red wine combines the grape varieties of Tempranillo (70%) and Syrah (30%) with fine aromas coming from 6 months ageing in oak barrels. It is a young wine with a touch of oak, which makes the wine long, intense and spicy.
