Description
  • Grape Varieties: Montepulciano. Estate grown.
  • Training System: Single cordon.
  • Production Area: Morro d'Oro and Notaresco in the province of Teramo. Vineyards have a south/southeast exposure and average altitude of 300 meters is.1. Lightly alkaline clay soils.
  • Harvest: Half of October.
  • Vinification: Heavily sorted grapes are soft pressed and macerated on the skins with frequent pump-covers for 25 days to obtain the optimal extraction of polyphenols and polysaccharides. Aging takes place in 500 liter French oak tonneau for a period of 18 months, followed by 6 months of refining in in bottle.
  • Tasting Notes: The color is deep ruby red with garnet nuances. On the nose the wine offers hints of red fruit jam (cherry, black cherry), dried flowers, cardamom and sweet tobacco. Cn the palate it is rich and intensely structured with well-integrated tannins and Favors of licorice and marasca cherry that carry through a dry, complex finish.
  • Food Pairing: Boiled, braised, roasted meat (beef, lamb), aged cheeses.
  • Alcohol Content: 13.5%.
  • Serving Temperature: 18-20 °C.
  • Available Sizes: Lt. 0,75 - Lr. 3 (in wood case).
  • Winemakers Notes: The first DOCG of the Abruzzo region constitutes toe excellence of the Terromo territory Elegant wine, of great structure and complexity, is proposed here in the Riserva type, which, thanks to the targeted aging in wood, confers even more complexity to this excellent selection.
