    • For this selection of Rosso Piceno Superiore we have chosen the Latin name of the woodpecker, the main symbol of the Piceni civilization.
    • The natural qualities of this blend.
    • Obtained from Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes grown in the restricted area that is best suited for the AOC Rosso Piceno.
    Sensory analysis:
    • A wine with an intense ruby colour.
    • In its full-flavoured bouquet, notes of cherry and plum blend with nuances of sweet spices (cinnamon and liquorice).
    • A full-bodied palate, that is tannic to the right extent and altogether harmonic.
    • Grape varieties: 60% Montepulciano, 40% Sangiovese.
    • Average age of vineyards: 20-25 years with southern-eastern exposure, 250-300m height.
    • Soil: medium-textured, verging on sandy.
    • Vine training technique: double Guyot and cordon training.
    • Harvesting: handpicking with selection of bunches from the first ten days through the second ten days of October.
    • Vinification: fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for 2 weeks.
    • Refining: in casks for 18-24 months.
    • Alcohol: 13.50% vol.
    • Ideal temperature: 16°C-18°C.
