Cannonau di Sardegna DOC Riserva
(GOLD MEDAL - China Wine and Spirit Awards 2014)
“An Autochthonous Grape with multiple benefits for life”
Cannonau made by native grape in Sardinia is the best anti-aging red wine which has 5-10 times stronger antioxidants than red wines from other parts of the world.
Drinking red wine in moderation on a regular basis, particularly Cannonau wine, offers an enormous advantage for those with cardiovascular problems. The reason for this important health benefit is due to a substance called
"Polyphenol" that has a high antioxidant content, essential for the fight against cholesterol and atherosclerosis.
This announcement published in November 2007 in the prestigious journal, “
Nature” is part of a research project carried out by the William Harvey Institute in London. The publication caused an uprise in the interest not only in the wine producers, but also eonologists and enthusiasts because it revealed the presence of vasoactive
"procyanidins" as the main component of the polyphenol organic molecule present in a high concentration in red wine, specifically in the indigenous grapes that grow only in the south-west of Sardinia and France. According to the study, the degree of concentration of the molecule in the wines of this area is between 5 to 10 times the amount of Australian, South African and American wines.
