House of York

In 1981, Mr Tony York was inspired to use wood to create beautiful household products and so the House of York business was established in Pinetown. In 1984 the business was moved to Pietermaritzburg and remained as a family business until 1997, where it became part of the Megacor Group. In 1998 House of York became a member of the Steinhoff International Group of companies, who managed the business for the period: 1998-2008. In 2008 Eveready South Africa acquired House of York and the factory was moved to Port Elizabeth where it still thrives today. Using the legacy of House of York's quality and combining it with new and inspired contemporary designs we have created a product which lives creativity. The House of York range is regularly updated in line with international styles and contemporary design trends. Eveready (Pty) Ltd, the only manufacturer of batteries in Southern Africa is a unique, Proudly South African company and is set to leverage it is sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing capabilities to grow the House of York range of products
