Ireland. The company also operates an extensive online, telephone, and mail-order sales service. Maplin has a huge
range of over 15,000 products in 9 product worlds with over 800 different categories of technology.. The Maplin product range
covers cables, communication, components, TV & satellite, home & in-car, audio & video, power, tools and computing.
There are also a number of ‘how to guides’ on a wide range of topics designed to help customers make the most of their tech.
Maplin Asia Pacific Operations was first established in 1992 due to the increase in the purchasing of items overseas to
strengthen buying power. The Asia Pacific branch offices are located in Hong Kong, Shenzhen & Taiwan. Responsibilities of
these offices include new product sourcing, sales, purchasing, quality evaluation, inspection, logistics and payment
arrangements from all three offices Hong Kong is the headquarter of the Asia Pacific business.
So far, the 3 offices in the APAC handle more than 400 suppliers and 5,000 buying items for the parent company.
