Paitin

Bricco di Neive is located 2 miles south-east of the commune of Neive, nestled in hte picturesque hillside area some 1000 feet above sea level.

The winery started in 1796, when Benedetto Elia purchasde 5 acred of vineyards in Bricco di Neive planted with Nebbiolo and Barbera. 30 Years later he purchased the house, the cellar and 5 more acres of Nebbiolo. 

The wines were sold in barrels for years until his nephew Giuseppe, in 1890 , built the "new" section of the winery, started in the 15th century. Place where the first bottle of Barbaresco were bottled. 

In 1989 Giuseppe started ti export in London, New York and Argentina, continuing in the 20th century trough two world wars and the phylloxera devastation. 

In 1948 Secondo Pasquero Elia, took over the winery and started to replant. A vineyard planted in 1953 is the sourch of our flagship Barbaresco Sor&igrave; Paitin Riserva Vecchie Vigne.

In the 80s Secondo's sons, Giovanni and Silvano, joint the winery and in 1994 bought a small estate in Alba where the nebbiolo Ca' Veja is produced. 

Our winery is a small family business. Our mission is making wines that reflect our special terroir, mantain the character of the grapes and the connection with the soil that created the best possible match with fine food. 

Therefore our work at Paitin is mostly dedicated to the vineyards, treated with care, attention and respect, avoiding the use of chemicals, herbicides or fertilizers.

The same care is adopted later in the cellar, where we look after the wine along their evolution, making sure to unfold the deep charme of our wines and to magnify the distinctiveness of our unique Sor&igrave;, the Sor&igrave; d’ Paitin.
