Recently, the demand for wine in China has grown remarkably, and that growth is expected to continue exponentially over the coming years as China’s middle class expands considerably, and the Chinese market experiences a spending boom. China is projected to overtake Japan as the leading consumer of luxury goods, such as wine, by the year 2015.

Millions of Chinese consumers are becoming interested in wines, but most haven’t developed brand loyalty yet. It is crucial that the best California wines be represented as premium products in China in order to fill this growing niche for quality wines. American wines in China currently comprise less than 5% of all imported wines throughout the country. We believe it is time for this statistic to change.
